VIERA, Fla.—The University of New Haven got its second win of the season with a 6-4 win over in-state rival Post University on Friday at the Space Coast Facility.

Catcher Brianna Trueman had a big day for the Chargers, going 2-for-4 with a double a home run and four RBIs. Her first RBI came on a ground out to the pitcher, plating UNH’s first run to tie the game at 1-1 in the first inning. She had a three-run home run in the bottom of the third inning as the Chargers increased their lead.

Emily Ricci also had two hits for New Haven. She also had a run scored and an RBI.

Gianna Depino (Northford/North Branford) also had an RBI on a sacrifice fly.

The Chargers used four pitchers in the game as Skylar Griffin got the win (3 IP, 2 earned runs, 5 hits, 4 strikeouts, 3 walks) while Katie Rhodes got the save by getting one out in the top of the seventh.

For Post, Bailey Dickenson and Alexandra Bisceglia (Southbury/Pomperaug) both had two hits. Dickenson drove in two runs while Bisceglia had a single RBI.
