STAMFORD—Tori Cuscuna, a Stamford High product who returned to her alma mater to coach softball for the past four springs, has stepped down.
Black Knights athletic director Chris Passamano confirmed the news on Friday morning.
“She has stepped down to focus on her teaching career,” Passamano said. “She’s a good person, a good coach, a good teacher and will be tough to replace.”
Passamano said the job has been posted, though he doesn’t expect to start looking for a new coach until after the fall sports seasons gets up and running and students return to school.
Cuscuna, who was an assistant coach with Stamford for a year before taking over the program, was 25-36 in her three seasons, qualifying for the state tournament each time.
