Outlook: The Huskies have gotten off to a slow start this season, dropping all four of its games during its opening weekend in Florida. They bounced back on weekend two, winning two games to get some momentum going. While UConn lost a lot to graduation from last year’s Big East tournament championship and NCAA Tournament team, the Huskies return plenty of offensive firepower from last year’s squad as Breslin and Petteys both had double-digit home runs a year ago. Breslin slugged 16 while Petteys had 15. Two newcomers with in-state ties are on the roster this season, as well. Alex Bacher (Ridgefield/St. Luke’s) and Grace Carrington (Orange/Amity) represent the home state university. UConn has been picked to finish second in the Big East this season.
