With senior days and rivalry games heating up and the season heading into the home stretch, so many good and important games are happening around the state.
Here is a quick rundown of Thursday’s scores:
Jonathan Law 6, Foran 1
Law starter Maddy Bonanno limited Foran to just five hits and one run as the Lawmen bested their cross-town rivals in their annual Danni Kemp Memorial Game.
Bonanno struck out four and walked nobody in the game.
Lily Stankevich opened the game with a lead-off solo home run to get things off on the right foot for Law. She finished with two hits and two RBIs on the day. Chloe Capalbo (1 run, 1 RBI) and Sophia Scarpa both had two hits, as well.
For Foran, Maddie Deldin tripled while four other Lions had singles. Ariella Diorio plated Foran’s lone run. Abigail Corris went the distance, scattering 10 hits. She struck out 6 and walked nobody.
Darien 4, New Canaan 1
Vivian Knott struck out 15 batters, firing a four-hitter as the Blue Wave bested rival New Canaan by a 4-1 score. Knott walked just one batter.
Four different Blue Wave players plated runs, including Bella McCarthy, Camden Comfort, Siena Gird and Annie Franzese. Darien only managed three hits in the game with Knott ripping a triple, McCarthy poking a double and Comfort posting a single.
For the Rams, Lauren Fico tripled and scored New Canaan’s only run. Julia Fittipaldi had two hits, both singles. Sofia Mallozzi had a single and an RBI. Fico struck out nine and walked two. Only two of Darien’s runs were earned.
