NEWTOWN 1, NEW MILFORD 0

Addy Cordova had herself a very big day for the Nighthawks. In the circle, Cordova fired a complete-game one-hitter, striking out 11 while a walking batter to keep the New Milford bats silent. At the plate, she was 3-for-4 with two doubles and scored her team’s only run.

Cordova had all three hits off New Milford starter Lydia Rocky (13Ks, 2 walks), who gave up just the unearned run.

For New Milford, Krista Manka was credited with the hit.

EDITOR’S NOTE: According to Newtown’s Gamechanger account, Cordova threw a no-hitter against the Green Wave. As is the rule of the of softball, we are using the higher-seeded Gamechanger as the “home book” to report these results.

BROOKFIELD 6, MASUK 1

Samantha Aurrichio was 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs as the Bobcats bested Masuk to advance to the title tilt.

Lila Conrad (2 runs) and Sydney Miller (double, 1 run) both added two hits to the winning cause.

In the circle, Miller gave up just the one run, scattering four hitrs while striking out 11. She didn’t walk a single batter.

For the Panthers, Julianna Falcone had two hits. Claire Perpetuo and Ava Parente both had a single. Mary Saunders struck out four and walked three.
