MONROE—The CT Timberwolves travel softball program hosted its third annual postseason banquet earlier this week, honoring two Trumbull High School softball players with its annual scholarship awards.
Third baseman Ella Ferris and pitcher Madison Pippa, two members of the Class of 2026, who helped lead the Eagles to the FCIAC championship game and CIAC Class LL quarterfinals last spring, were honored by the Timberwolves.
Ferris will be a co-head coach with the Timberwolves 10U team this season while Pippa, who is headed to Wagner University to play at the Division 1 level, volunteered a lot of time with the organization this past year.
Previous scholarship award winners honored include: Sophia Rodriguez of St. Joseph, Becca Sexton of Trumbull, Kylie Lucia of Trumbull and Maren Jones of Trumbull.

The Timberwolves, a program with an entire female head coaching staff, also gave out honored players on each and every team, from 10U, 12U, 14U and 16U.
The organization handed out almost 20 awards as part of the festivities, which was held at Testo’s Restaurant in Monroe on Monday, August 17th.
Maura Carbone and Jill O’Connell, who co-coached the 12U and 16U squads, were honored as the Timberwolves’ Co-Coaches of the Year.
Team awards included:
16U — Victoria Dobrydney, Offensive Player of Year; Taylor White, Defensive Player of the Year; Catalina Calabrese, Coaches Award.
14U — Catalina Calabrese, Offensive Player of the Year; Noa Jasgur, Defensive Player of the Year; Isabella Hegedus, Coaches Award.
12U — Ava Garafolo, Offensive Player of the Year; Lilly Bria, Defensive Player of the Year; Sophia Carassquillo, Coaches Award.
10U Navy — Vale Agler, Offensive Player of the Year; Victoria Ospina, Defensive Player of the Year; Emmie Tafel, Coaches Award.
10U Gray — Millie Signor, Offensive Player of the Year; Maddie Kozik, Defensive Player of the Year; Juliana Roberto, Coaches Award.
The evening was capped off with the organization honoring the CT Softball Blog and publisher John Nash for their contributions to the sport as well as Timberwolves president and founder Jeff Dobrydney for his role in building the program since its inception three years ago.
