MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.—The United States Coast Guard Academy scored nine runs over the second half of the game as it defeated Mitchell College by a 10-2 score on Thursday, March 13.
Lauren Ragonese was 3-for-4 with two runs scored for Coast Guard. Maura Murphy (2 runs, 1 RBI) and Madeline Kibler (2 RBIs) both had two hits while Hayden Reilly plated two runs with a triple. Ragonese also had a triple while Mack Murnane (1 run, 1 RBI) had a double.
Dana Walker earned the win for Coast Guard, giving up two runs while scattering five hits. She struck out 10 and didn’t walk a batter.
For Mitchell, Olivia DeCicco was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Brooke Whitmarsh and Emma LaBreck had RBIs. Nadya Hudson also had a double while Whitmarsh tripled.
