Here is a capsulized look at the Faifield Lady Stags softball team:

Coach/Years: Julie Brzezinski, 29th season

Last year’s record: 26-26 (18-7 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference)

2025 Postseason: Went 1-2 during MAAC tournament.

2026 Current Record: 3-5 (as of Feb.18, 2026)

Key Players Returning: Anna Paravati, Sr., IF; Delaney Whieldon, Sr., C-1B; Quinn McGonigle, Sr., OF; Alyssa Weinberg, Sr., P; Danica Silvestri, Jr., OF-C; Peyton Shields, Jr., P; Ava Armuth, Soph., C-OF; Emma Marchese, Soph., 1B-DP; Caroline Walls, Soph., OF.

Top Newcomers: SJ Mull, Graduate Student, OF (Yale); Sarah Bielski, Fr., 3B-Util; Sammie Dougherty, Fr., IF; Mia Simon, Fr., P.

Outlook: After going 26-26 last season, the Lady Stags have a lot of rebuilding to do having lost three of its top six hitters. Fairfield was still plenty young a year ago, though, so if this year’s sophomore class steps up its game even more than last year’s impressive efforts, those graduation losses could be a push. One big returnee for Fairfield is senior pitcher Alyssa Weinberg (18-10, 2.29 ERA, 190 Ks in 180 innings last season). And, one key addition for the Fairfield line-up this season is the transfer of Yale graduate SJ Mull, who arrives on campus as a graduate student. Fairfield finished second in the MAAC last season and was picked to finish second in the preseason coaches poll, as well. Fairfield has no players from Connecticut on its 2026 roster.
