Top-seeded Nonnewaug and second-seeded Thomaston took care of business on Tuesday, winning their semifinal games of the Berkshire League softball tournament.
Thomaston’s Madison Decker took things a step further.
The pitcher fired a seven-inning no-hitter, striking out 15 while walking just a single batter, to lead Thomaston to their 8-0 victory.
In the other semifinal, Nonnewaug did what was expected off them, moving onto the final again this season with a 17-2 win over No. 4 Lakeview.

THOMASTON 8, SHEPAUG VALLEY 0
Decker’s no-hitter was the main story, but her team gave her plenty of run support to advance to the final.
Addison Patchall was 2-for-5 with a run scored and five RBIs on the day. She had a triple, as well. Decker aided her own cause with two hits, which drove in two. Brie Beaudoin had the other RBI for Thomaston.
Emma Vansendin’s walk was all Shepaug could do on this day as it looks forward to the state tournament.
NONNEWAUG 17, LAKEVIEW 2
The Chiefs got hitting (15 hits), defense (zero errors) and pitching (Scarlett Ivey, 5 innings, 1 earned run, 11 strikeouts, 2 walks) to advance to the championship game.
Ashlynn Blum led the way by driving in four runners. Jordan Kovach was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs. She also had a home run. Gia Savarese was 3-for-3 in the game with three runs scored, two triples and two RBIs. Elizabeth Boisits (2 runs, 1 RBI, 1 double) and Ivey (2-for-4, 2 runs, 1 RBI, double).
