STORRS—Four more state champions were added to annals of Connecticut’s softball history on Saturday at the University of Connecticut’s Burrill Family Field.
The evening was capped off with St. Paul Catholic winning its first-ever state softball title, avenging last year’s title game loss by beat 2025 champ North Branford by an 11-3 score.
Before that Brookfield took home its first state title since 2000, topping SWC rival New Milford by a 3-1 score.
Two teams also repeated as state champs as Cheshire kicked off the day with a 2-0 win over Southington in Class LL and Foran blanked Woodland Regional by a 9-0 score to take home its second straight Class M crown.

CLASS S: St. Paul Catholic 11, North Branford 3
Breanna Demora struck out struck out 14 while giving up just four hits while the St. Paul Catholic bats exploded for 15 hits as the Falcons cruised to an 11-3 win.
Demora only walked one batter and only two of the three runs she surrendered were earned.
Kaitlyn Wood had two singles, a double an RBI to pace the St. Paul offense. Sydney Yanavich drove in three and scored two runs, going to 2-for-3 with two singles. Also, Lili McCulloch (2-for-5, 2 runs, 1 RBI), Julia Kozlak (2-for-3, 1 run, 2 RBIs), and Peighton Giambra (2-for-3, 1 run, 1 RBI) all had two singles apiece. Isabella McCulloch and Demora both doubled, as well.
For North Branford, Madi DiStefano had a two-run home run while Alia Martone, Tessa Delucia and Addy Wyatt had singles.

CLASS L: Brookfield 3, New Milford 1
Sydney Miller threw a complete-game four-hitter, giving up just one while striking out 12 without walking a batter and leading Brookfield to its first state since the 2000 season.
Emily Casey’s RBI single to right field gave Brookfield the lead and two-run error later in the inning allowed the Bobcats to increase their advantage en route to the victory.
Lila Conrad had two doubles for Brookfield while Mary Aurrichio had two hits. Miller also had a single.
For New Milford, Cienna McNamara, Lillian Fortier and Regan O’Loughlin all doubled for the Green Wave. McNamara and O’Loughlin had back-to-back doubles in the fifth to put New Milford on the board. Carly Coloneri added a single.
Lydia Rocky pitched well in defeat, not giving up an earned run. She struck out 11 and walked two.

CLASS M: Foran 9, Woodland Regional 0
Maddie Deldin went 3-for-3 with six RBIs, including an inside-the-park grand slam, and Abigail Corris pitched a five-hit shutout as the Foran Lions defended their Class M championship with a 9-0 win over Woodland Regional.
Corris struck out 14 and walked one. She also had three hits.
Norah Bove had a double and a single; Emily Speringo had a triple and a single; and Maya Fallon-Silva had two singles.
For Woodland, Angelena Tottenham had two singles.

CLASS LL: Cheshire 2, Southington 0
Cheshire defends its Class LL title with a 2-0 win over Southington.
Rams pitcher Jenica Matos threw a one-hitter, striking out 15. She didn’t walk anybody.
Avery Miramant’s sacrifice bunt in the bottom of the second staked Cheshire to a 1-0 lead and the Rams made it 2-0 in bottom of the sixth when Lyla Blair singled and was doubled home by Olivia Ryzdy.
Addy Coffey had the other hit for the Cheshire, a double in the second that pushed pinch runner Chloe Marciano to third, setting up Miramant’s sacrifice bunt.
For Southington, Savanna Eliasson broke up Matos’ perfect game and no-hitter with a single with two outs in the top of the fifth.
