If there is one thing I have learned over the last few months, it’s that none of this happens alone.
When I launched the CT Softball Blog a little more than three high school seasons ago, I honestly had no idea what it would become. I just knew I loved telling stories and that Connecticut softball deserved a place dedicated entirely to the players, coaches and teams that make this sport so special.
This spring, the blog grew in ways I never could have imagined.
More readers. More stories. More photographs. More podcasts. More road trips. More late nights. More memories.
Most importantly, more support.
The incredible response to our GoFundMe campaign helped make all of that possible. Whether you donated, shared the campaign, sponsored the blog, agreed to an interview, sent me a box score or simply took a few minutes out of your day to read a story, you played a part in making 2026 the biggest and best season in the history of the CT Softball Blog.
And for that, I am deeply grateful.
But we’re not done yet.
Beginning today, I’ll be unveiling the inaugural CT Softball Blog Diamond Awards, recognizing the best of the best from the 2026 season. Ten honors will be handed out, including Player of the Year, Pitcher of the Year, Coach of the Year, Team of the Year and several others celebrating the unforgettable moments and performances that made this season so special.
The goal is to have all ten awards announced by Sunday.
Then, beginning next Monday, we’ll turn the spotlight to something very close to my heart.
Our “Class” of 2026.
Throughout the next week, I’ll be sharing five special stories about remarkable seniors whose impact extends far beyond the softball field. Stories about perseverance, service, leadership and dreams that reach well beyond the foul lines.
Because in the end, that’s what this blog has always been about.
Not just wins and losses.
People.
And thanks to all of you, there are a whole lot more stories still waiting to be told.
