Here is your rundown for Monday’s game:
New Milford 2, Masuk 0
Lilly Fortier and Lydia Rocky had back-to-back doubles, plating two runs in the bottom of the first inning and those scores held up as New Milford shutout Masuk.
Cienna McNamara had led off for the Green Wave with a walk. With one out, the back-to-back doubles staked New Milford to a lead it would not relinquish behind Rocky on the mound.
Rocky gave up just three hits, striking out 9 and walking one batter to earn the win.
Fortier finished with two of New Milford’s four hits. Grace Staller had the other one.
The Green Wave improved to 12-0.
For Masuk, which suffered its first loss of the season and fell to 11-1, Grace Ely, Ciena Perpetuo and Izzy Debernardo all had singles. Mary Saunders was the tough-luck loser, striking out eight and walking two.
Fairfield Ludlowe 2, Ridgefield 1
The Falcons took advantage of multiple Ridgefield errors in the top of the seventh to steal a run and a 2-1 win over the Tigers.
Taylor Vroman led off the seventh with a bunt single, racing all the way to third on an ensuing error. Lauren Santa Barbara then hit a pop up that led to another Ridgefield error, giving the Falcons a 2-1 lead.
The Falcons only managed two hits in the game. Santa Barbara had a solo home run in the top of the first.
Finley Dean scattered nine hits, giving up just the one run. She struck out eight and walked one.
For Ridgefield, Caitlin McGratty struck out 12 and didn’t walk a batter. Riley Rotunno and Sophia Cappiello both had two hits for the Tigers,
